Jonathan, that’s my stake center. It’s the Bonneville Stake Center, not Bonneview, although it’s located on Bonneview Drive–because the Bonneville Drive name was already taken at City Creek Canyon–going from 11th Ave to East Capitol.
Great project, Jonathan.
We’re awaiting a decision from the Church as to whether the Yale Ward Buidling on Gilmer Dr, will be retrofitted or taken down. That’s my ward and it’s 1/2 block from the stake center. Our wards, Yale 1 and Yale 2 were merged 2 1/2 years ago. The Garden Park wards–same stake– were merged a few years before that, and there’s talk the Bonneville wards that meet in the stake center will be merged before too long–dwindling membership in this area. In that case, they’d send our ward to the stake center and take down our historic building. Yale Ward has a total of 4 floors, no elevator and is in need of major work but it’s beautiful, has character, a great chapel and I’ll be sick if they demolish it.

Thanks for the great info Martine! I will update the name of the post so it is correct. I have pictures and plans of the Yale building as well, and it would be a terrible building to lose. I had no idea that it was being considered for demolition. Maybe I should post them sooner rather than later, now.

Hello from Texas, might you be able to share a picture of the Yale Ward building…we are putting together a family calendar for 2012, and my pictures all have lots of people in them.
Thanks for your consideration.

Hi Roger – thanks for stopping by. I’ve posted a picture of the Yale meetinghouse. If you do choose to use it, all I ask is that you include a link to this blog as the source. Thanks!
