Looks like that cross was built into the exterior of the chapel rather than painted on…. is this one of those rare Mormon chapels that uses Christianity’s most basic symbol in its design?

It’s quite possible. I have been wondering the same thing as well. I haven’t met with the current owners of the building yet, but when I do, I’ll be sure to ask if they have any info about what they changed and what was already in the building.

Looking at the full-sized image (by clicking on it), it appears that the crucifix was made by simply painting some of the existing bricks.

You’re probably right, Paul. Looking at it again, the cross also matches the one on their sign.
