Ogden Tabernacle Exterior
This building is currently under renovation along with the adjacent Ogden Temple. I am unsure as to what changes will be made to the building other than the removal of the steeple. It is unfortunate that such a great steeple will be gone.

It is a beautiful steeple.

If you scroll to pic # 5 in this collection, you can see the tabernacle sans steeple. Kind of sad.

Why are they taking off the steeple? That just seems weird to me.

I didn’t realize the steeple was already down. It must have been recently – in the last few weeks. The last time I drove by, it was still up. The reason I heard for why they were removing it, was so it didn’t visually compete with the temple. It’s too bad, because it was a better steeple than the one the temple will have.

I heard they were going to put the old tabernacle steeple on the new temple… hearsay, of course.

That would be great if they did, but it doesn’t appear that way from the rendering of the new temple I’ve seen.
