Discovering Great Mormon Buildings

Lorin Farr 3rd Ward Exterior

I stumbled upon this building recently and was struck by its use of local stone which ties it to the surrounding landscape quite nicely. I am unsure of the original name of the building or its date of construction.

The interior stone in the Perry, Utah (1974ish) lining the wall behind the pulpit is also local stone. I just heard a talk describing it’s collection from the mountain just above the chapel.

I live within this wards boundaries. If you think it’s exterior facade is beautiful, you should see the the attention to the architectural details inside, the sprawling layout of the floor plan, providing unexpected extra accommodations like a separate gymnasium away from the chaple, and many more to explore. One of my favorite things about the this stake center are the surrounding views that are incredibly indescribable. However, my very favorite are the warm, caring and friendly ward members, the very loving and vivacious Relief Society President- Pre. Ellis and the Amazing, kind hearted, personable Bishop Childs. I can’t leave out all the other ward leaders who are very dedicated, lovenly sacrifice their time to work hard and endless hours to help support and serve the various auxiliary and organizations within this awesome ward.
Every time I pull up into the parking lot of this beautiful chaple, I’m reminded what a blessing it is to be connected to this gorgeous, even magical, place. From the breathtaking views, amazing Architecture, beautiful interiors and outstanding ward members.
