Fantastic modern chapel designed for the Brooklyn Branch by architects Pope and Burton. Dedicated Feb 16, 1919 in three sessions by Apostle Reed Smoot.

very symmetrical- clean edges & well balanced. I think the balanced simplicity of its architectural design complements well with its parishioners…

Those Pope and Burton fellows were able to copy F. L. Wright again and again (in the best sense), win the Church competition for the Alberta temple and go onto and create the best architecture the Church has ever created. Yeah for progressive design that is expressive, meaningful, light-filled, honest, timeless, creative, etc. What a bunch of great and worthy design principles for a Church and Gospel that is progressive, expressive, meaningful, light-filled, honest, timeless, creative, etc. Hint, hint… 😉
